Order of Display Red White and Blue Colors

This bedroom was designed for a preteen boy using a red white and blue color scheme. The bed was positioned to create a sense of openness, and dark blue board and batten molding was added to the lower portion of the wall.

There's plenty of room for play in this superhero-inspired kids' bedroom with a loft bed, Superman artwork and modern swivel chairs.

Plenty of soft textures in plush rugs, faux fur and channel upholstery give this bedroom a feeling of luxury even while the furniture lines stay modern and cool.

The solution-based design for this attic-shaped room with left and right sloping ceilings was to open up the ceiling and add collar ties to make the space feel airy and inviting, and utilize unused space below to create closets. The six handy closets blend in with the rest of the bedroom's electric blue walls, with pure white trim that helps the closets coordinate with the exposed collar ties above.

To integrate book storage into the family room, Esther had a 4' by 7' nook added to the wall behind the sofa. For richness, she opted to have the built-in stained in a medium brown tone rather than painting it white to match the trim.

To keep the formal dining area cohesive in style with the family room as well as the breakfast nook, it is painted in the same navy blue. Framed photography, refurbished vintage chairs and a cool wooden table give personality to the space.

A sleek double vanity is topped with warm brown countertops and sleek chrome faucets. Red mirrors pop off the blue chinoiserie wallpaper, adding elegant Asian style to the space.

From the floor up, the entire guest room is wrapped in shades of blue. A basic queen bed frame is dressed with blue and white linens and placed in to corner to create a cozy niche. Touches of red are placed throughout the room to coordinate with the oversized American flag.

After years of being used as storage space, the dark and dingy attic of this Knoxville, Tenn., house gets a functional boost with bold color and vintage furniture.

A vintage bamboo headboard was spray-painted in a cheerful blue to create the backdrop of this girl's transitional bedroom.
